Ethiopian Prime Minister Ali: Lafto Hospital inaugurated
Addis Ababa, May 26 (Hibya) - Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali announced the opening of Lafto Hospital and made statements regarding new investments in the healthcare sector.
Ali announced that they had inaugurated Lafto Hospital.
Abiy Ahmed stated, “Lafto Hospital has opened!” announcing that the hospital had begun operations.
Referring to healthcare policies, Abiy Ahmed said that this investment was an important step toward the country’s goal of improving preventive and curative healthcare services.
Abiy Ahmed stated that the hospital would contribute to health tourism goals and that reducing foreign currency spent on treatment abroad was also among the objectives.
Noting that Lafto Hospital was built on an area of 5.4 hectares, Abiy Ahmed explained that the facility would provide international-standard services in fields such as cancer treatment and complex heart diseases.
Abiy Ahmed stated that the new healthcare institution was an indication of Ethiopia’s goals for self-sufficiency and national development.
