Frederiksen: Europe must strengthen its defense and support for Ukraine
Copenhagen, July 13 (Hibya) - Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will attend the "Coalition of the Willing" meeting in Paris. Frederiksen said the discussions will focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities and increasing Europe's defense production.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will take part in meetings in Paris focused on strengthening European defense and increasing support for Ukraine.
According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister of Denmark, Frederiksen will meet with heads of state and government in Paris on July 13-14.
Frederiksen will participate in the "Coalition of the Willing" meeting hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, where support for Ukraine's air defense and security guarantees will be discussed.
In her statement, Frederiksen said Russia continues its attacks on Ukrainian cities, adding: "We must provide more military support so that Ukraine can effectively defend itself against Russia's brutal war."
Frederiksen stressed that Ukraine is in urgent need of air defense systems and that Europe must also expand its defense production capacity.
She added: "We must significantly increase production in Europe to ensure that Ukraine has the air and missile defense capabilities it needs."
The statement also noted that, as part of her visit to Paris, Frederiksen will attend a state dinner at the Élysée Palace and take part in the traditional Bastille Day military parade at Place de la Concorde on July 14.
It was further stated that this year's Bastille Day military parade will be held under the theme "Europe's Strategic Awakening," with military units from several European countries participating. Denmark will be represented by its Air Force and the Royal Guard.
