Ghebreyesus: 99,000 MPox vaccines delivered to the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Geneva, September 6 (Hibya) - Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), announced that 99,000 MPox vaccines have been delivered to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus noted that 99,000 MPox vaccines have been delivered to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and added, "An additional 101,000 doses are expected to be delivered this weekend."
Ghebreyesus also stated that WHO and its partners support the government through a comprehensive emergency health intervention based on case detection, contact tracing, targeted vaccination, case management, and community engagement and mobilization. "We thank the European Union once again for its solidarity and vaccine sharing," he said.
