Ghebreyesus: Under International Humanitarian Law, health workers must always be protected
Geneva, March 31 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that health workers must always be protected under International Humanitarian Law.
Tedros described the deadly attack on eight Palestine Red Crescent ambulance workers operating in Gaza as horrific.
“WHO is deeply concerned about the health of missing ambulance worker Assad Al-Nassasra. Under International Humanitarian Law, health workers must always be protected. We mourn the death of our colleagues with deep sadness and call for an immediate end to attacks on health and humanitarian workers,” he said.
