Highlighting the central role of human rights in all aspects of social life, Guterres said: “When human rights are violated, everything collapses. Peace. Development. Social cohesion. Trust. Solidarity.”
Arguing for the necessity of a human rights-centered policy in addressing global crises, Guterres added: “It is more important than ever to turn political participation into a path toward strengthening human rights everywhere.”
