Meloni comments on claims regarding Sanremo
Rome, 23 February (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that reports claiming she would attend the opening night of the Sanremo Music Festival do not reflect reality.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made a statement regarding allegations that she would participate in the Sanremo Music Festival.
Recalling that the claims were denied by both the government and the festival management, Meloni said, “I have been reading for days reports claiming that I would appear on the first evening of Sanremo. It is a completely fabricated story, promptly denied first by Palazzo Chigi and then by Carlo Conti himself.”
Speaking about the issue remaining on the agenda despite the denials, Meloni added, “And the story continues: after the denial, the host was questioned again today at a press conference about my imaginary presence. At this point, it is worth reminding those who invent stories from scratch that FantaSanremo is a fun game for Festival fans. However, news should remain in the real world.”
Emphasizing the artistic value of the festival, Meloni concluded her statement by saying, “Meanwhile, I will continue my work. And I am sure that Sanremo will shine even without imaginary guests. Because it is the greatest celebration of Italian music, and there is no need to introduce political controversy into it.”
