UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey announced that he met with his Australian counterpart Richard Marles during the Australia–United Kingdom Ministerial Consultations (AUKMIN) and that they exchanged gifts symbolizing the longstanding and deep friendship between the two countries.
Highlighting the now-traditional activity and the mutual gestures between them, Healey said: “I am proud to give Richard my local Rotherham Rugby team jersey and to wear his local Geelong Cats jersey – this is a representation of the deep friendship between our nations.”
