Israel: As long as Hamas remains in power, this story will not have a happy ending
Jerusalem, November 2 – In a statement concerning Hamas, Israel criticized the group's actions and argued that some circles in the West have created a narrative portraying Hamas as heroic.
Israel's statement said, "Once upon a time, people knew who the villains were. Today, however, some in the West have created a fairy tale in which jihadist Hamas terrorists are the heroes."
The statement listed accusations against Hamas, including mass killings, rape, kidnapping, theft of humanitarian aid and intimidation of civilians. It also alleged that the group was jeopardizing Gaza's future, stating, "There is nothing heroic about mass murder, rape, kidnapping, stealing aid, terrorizing civilians or sacrificing Gaza's future."
Arguing that Gaza cannot have a positive future if Hamas remains in power, Israel concluded its statement with the words, "As long as Hamas remains in power, this story will not have a happy ending."
