Israel deports 4 Italian activists
Jerusalem, 3 October (Hibya) – Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 4 Italian activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla have been deported.
According to The Times of Israel, more than 470 activists were detained on 42 vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which were stopped by the Israeli navy.
In a statement posted on its social media account, the ministry said: “Procedures to end the Hamas–Sumud provocation and to complete the deportation of participants in this fake initiative are ongoing.”
The statement added that 4 Italian citizens have already been deported:
“The others are in the process of deportation. Israel wants to complete this process as soon as possible. They are all safe and healthy. As Israel, Italy, Greece and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem have repeatedly stated, any aid, however small, could have been peacefully delivered to Gaza. This was nothing but a provocation.”
