Italian Foreign Minister Tajani comments on debate over private savings
Rome, July 23 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani argued that his proposal to use the country's private savings to stimulate economic growth has now been adopted by other political circles.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made a statement regarding the debate over channeling private savings in Italy into the country's economy.
In a post on social media, Tajani said that private savings in Italy exceed €1.7 trillion and argued that these resources should be used to increase investment.
Tajani also maintained that public spending should become more efficient and the tax burden should be reduced, adding that private funds could be used to support economic growth.
He criticized Democratic Party Secretary Elly Schlein for raising the issue, claiming that her approach would lead to the taxation of savings and the introduction of new wealth taxes.
