Jetten: The Netherlands needs housing, so we will build
Amsterdam, September 21 (Hibya) - Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten announced that a package containing 50 concrete measures to address problems in the housing market and billions of liras in financing for housing construction will be presented.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten made a statement regarding the housing construction package to be presented by Minister Eleanor Boekholt. Jetten said that the package is the largest housing construction package of the century and that there is a great need for it.
Stating that the housing market is completely gridlocked and that many people have been waiting for years for an affordable home of their own, Jetten said the process will be significantly accelerated with 50 concrete measures and billions of liras in financing for housing construction.
Jetten said that more space will be created for construction, permit procedures will be accelerated, and more homes will be produced in factories in the Netherlands. He also stated that more social housing and mid-segment rental housing will be built for people who struggle to find a place to live.
Jetten also said that new types of housing for the elderly, such as "Friends" homes, will be introduced, adding, "The Netherlands needs housing. That is why we will build."
