New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon made a statement regarding the free trade agreement with India. Luxon recalled that nearly three years ago, National had pledged that if elected, it would conclude a free trade agreement with India during its first term in office.

Stating that the agreement had been finalized, Luxon said, "And today, we finalized this agreement, which will come into force next month."

Referring to the impact of the free trade agreement on businesses, Luxon said, "It is exciting to think about how many businesses will grow thanks to this free trade agreement and what that will mean for those businesses, their employees and the country as a whole."

Assessing the outcomes the agreement will provide for exporters and businesses, Luxon said it means "more opportunities for exporters, stronger growth for businesses, and more jobs and higher incomes for New Zealand".
