Jetten: We are accelerating efforts to address the housing shortage in the Netherlands
Amsterdam, September 21 (Hibya) - Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten said that producing more, faster and better housing is one of the Cabinet's top priorities, adding that efforts are being accelerated to address the housing shortage.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten said that he visited the new Waterfront development area in Harderwijk together with Ministers Boekholt-O’Sullivan and Sterk. Jetten said the area is an example set by a small municipality eager to demonstrate how things can be done.
Stating that new homes are being built rapidly at Waterfront, Jetten said housing is being constructed for young people buying a home for the first time, as well as for families and the elderly. Jetten said this contributes to increasing mobility in the housing market.
Jetten said Waterfront is an example of how the Housing Construction Acceleration Task Force works in cooperation with municipalities, investors, housing associations and construction companies to create a sustainable housing supply.
Emphasizing that the work is being accelerated, Jetten said, "Together, we are accelerating our efforts to address the housing shortage in the Netherlands."
