Lazzarini noted that according to UNICEF, since the resumption of attacks, at least 100 children have been killed or injured daily in Gaza.

“Young lives are being cut short in a war they didn’t start,” he said. “Since the war began a year and a half ago, 15,000 children have reportedly been killed. The ceasefire at the beginning of the year gave children in Gaza a chance to survive and just be children.”

He added, “The return of war has once again robbed them of their childhood. War has made Gaza a ‘no land’ for children. This is a stain on our shared humanity. Nothing justifies the killing of children. Resume the ceasefire immediately.”
