Lithuania begins preparations for EU Council Presidency
New York, September 24 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys announced that preparations have begun with 100 days remaining before his country assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys announced that preparations have begun 100 days before his country assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Budrys said in his statement, “Lithuania’s preparations for the Presidency of the Council of the EU begin today.”
Budrys said that during the presidency, the goals of “bringing countries together, promoting dialogue and working on solutions that will strengthen Europe as a whole” would come to the fore, adding that the process begins today.
Budrys said, “Let us build trust, strengthen our unity and work hand in hand for our common goal of a strong, secure and resilient Europe.”
