Lula: Brazil strengthens its digital sovereignty
Brasilia, August 12 (Hibya) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said his country is working to strengthen its digital sovereignty, announcing that Brazil aims to develop its own capabilities in artificial intelligence, data and technology infrastructure.
Lula da Silva said they met with experts on artificial intelligence, data, infrastructure and strategic technologies, adding that Brazil is focused on developing its own technological capacity in these areas. Lula stated that 23 billion reais in funding is planned through 2028 under the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan and that more than 14 billion reais has been used over the past two years.
Lula described the development of technological capacity as an important element in enabling the country to make decisions about its future through its own means.
