US sends teams to support search and rescue efforts in Colombia
Washington, August 12 (Hibya) - The U.S. Department of State announced that, at the request of the Colombian government, technical teams from Virginia and California have been deployed to support search and rescue operations following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake.
The U.S. Department of State announced that technical teams had been deployed to support search and rescue operations in Colombia at the request of the Colombian authorities.
The statement said urban search and rescue (USAR) teams from Fairfax County, Virginia, and Los Angeles County, California, had been mobilized to support operations in Colombia.
The statement said the Colombian government continues to assess needs following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake, adding that the U.S. administration will continue to work directly with Colombia and stands ready to provide additional support if needed.
