Luxon: We succeeded in deepening the New Zealand–United Kingdom relationship
Wellington, June 22 (Hibya) - New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon thanked outgoing United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his contributions to strengthening relations between the two countries.
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said he had enjoyed working with Keir Starmer, noting that during Starmer’s time in office, relations between New Zealand and the United Kingdom had been deepened and broadened.
Referring to cooperation in the fields of economy and security, Luxon stated that New Zealand’s exports to the United Kingdom had increased by 42 percent over the past two years, and that close cooperation had also been maintained in the training of Ukrainian soldiers.
Luxon emphasized that he appreciated Starmer’s support for Ukraine and had always admired his principled and determined stance on the issue.
Wishing Starmer success in the future, Luxon said that he looked forward to continuing cooperation with the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
