Berlin, August 14 (Hibya) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he was following developments regarding the ongoing wildfires in many parts of the country. Merz announced that the Federal Police and Federal Armed Forces were providing support wherever needed.

Merz said he was being continuously briefed on developments, adding: “Wherever possible, the Federal Police and Federal Armed Forces are providing assistance.”
Thanking the teams involved in fighting the fires for their work, Merz said he appreciated the emergency crews' “tireless and often exhausting efforts”.
