Milatovic: August 30 was not the end of change, but the beginning
Podgorica, August 30 (Hibya) - Montenegro President Jakov Milatovic emphasized the importance of democracy and governments being accountable to citizens in a message marking the anniversary of the political changes of August 30.
Speaking on the anniversary of Montenegro's political transformation, President Jakov Milatovic said that August 30 represented a critical threshold for the country's democratic processes.
Drawing attention to the struggle for democracy and the approach to governance, Milatovic said, "August 30 showed that power in Montenegro belongs to no one. But democracy is not a one-way street. We fight for it every day."
Milatovic concluded his statement by saying, "Therefore, August 30 was not the end of change, but the beginning. The beginning of an era in which every government must be accountable to its citizens."
