Mixed performance in Asia-Pacific stock markets
Istanbul, October 2 (Hibya) – Major stock indices traded across the Asia-Pacific region showed a mixed performance.
Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell 1.00 percent to 68,268.00 points. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index declined 2.83 percent to 23,916.00 points, while the FTSE China 50 index, which tracks Chinese stocks, dropped 2.38 percent to 15,193.51 points. India's Nifty 50 index fell 0.88 percent to 22,421.95 points, while Indonesia's IDX Composite index declined 0.32 percent to 5,990.20 points.
Buying activity was more prominent in other markets across the region. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.62 percent to 8,668.20 points, while South Korea's KOSPI index gained 0.14 percent to 6,980.96 points. Thailand's SET index increased 0.54 percent to 1,572.38 points, and Malaysia's KLCI index rose 0.31 percent to 1,635.37 points.
In Sri Lanka, the CSE All-Share index ended the day unchanged.
