Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that he felt deep sorrow over the death of Yosef Eisenthal, a Yeshiva student who was killed during a protest in Jerusalem.

In his message, Netanyahu said, "I feel deep sorrow over the death of Yosef Eisenthal, the dear Yeshiva student, who was killed during a protest in Jerusalem yesterday, and his blessed memory will be cherished."

Netanyahu added, "At the same time, I call for moderation to prevent further escalation; may God protect us from new tragedies."

Netanyahu stated that the sanctity of life is one of the core values of Jewish heritage, saying, "The value of the sanctity of life is engraved in our heritage and must be preserved above all."

He concluded his message with a quote from sacred texts: "He will destroy death forever; the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces."
