US stock markets decline amid losses in technology shares
Istanbul, October 23 (Hibya) - US stock markets showed a negative trend amid selling pressure on technology shares. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 2.6 percent and the S&P 500 Index declined 1.21 percent, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average posted a slight gain.
US stock markets ended the trading session with mixed results, affected by renewed concerns over artificial intelligence investments and declines in technology stocks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 11.89 points to 52,867.98. The S&P 500 Index fell 93.74 points to 7,663.43, while the Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 694 points to 26,008.86.
Selling pressure in the technology sector was driven by corporate financial results that reignited concerns about the growth potential of investments in artificial intelligence.
