Pakistan Foreign Secretary Ambassador Baloch receives OPCW delegation
Islamabad, June 30 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Amna Baloch, received a delegation from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch met with a delegation from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) at the Ministry.
It was noted that the delegation had earlier been briefed by Deputy Foreign Secretary and Spokesperson Ambassador Tahir Andrabi on Pakistan's implementation of the Convention, its broader disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation priorities, and its constructive engagement within the OPCW.
The delegation was said to be part of a distinguished group of 19 experts and representatives from 16 countries participating in the Forum on the Peaceful Uses of Chemistry, held in Islamabad from June 30 to July 2, 2026.
Jointly organized by Pakistan and the OPCW under Article XI of the Chemical Weapons Convention, the Forum brings together international experts and regional delegates to enhance cooperation on chemical safety and security, integrated chemicals management, responsible conduct in science, and the peaceful uses of chemistry.
