Palestine reacts to Israel allocating additional funds for settlements in the budget
Ramallah, April 4 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Israel’s allocation of additional resources for settlements in its budget represents a rapid undermining of the two-state solution.
In its statement, the ministry expressed deep concern over the Israeli Knesset’s approval last week of a 320% increase in funding for the Ministry of Settlements.
It was noted that this amount is in addition to funds already paid by various relevant ministries, particularly the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, in support of settlements and pastoral areas.
“The ministry holds the international community responsible for its failure to implement its decisions regarding the Palestinian issue. It calls on the UN Security Council to take responsibility for stopping genocide, displacement, and the war of annexation, and to impose the foundations of peace on the Israeli government in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.”
