Portuguese Foreign Minister Rangel met with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa at the United Nations headquarters.

During the meeting, the two countries' bilateral relations and prospects for their further development were discussed. The ministers also addressed Ghana's rotating presidency of the African Union in 2027 and Portugal's term on the United Nations Security Council in 2027-2028.

During his bilateral meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, Rangel conveyed Portugal's solidarity over the fires affecting Algeria.

At the meeting, which highlighted the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, efforts to deepen the bilateral partnership and preparations for the next High-Level Meeting were discussed.

Special attention was given to the areas of energy, infrastructure, agri-food, environment and the maritime economy.
