Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi held a phone call on developing cooperation between the two countries and regional developments.

According to a statement from Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the call addressed issues related to deepening cooperation between Qatar and Oman and expanding its scope.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region. In particular, the ongoing talks between Oman and Iran and efforts related to the Strait of Hormuz were discussed.

The parties reviewed the phased framework that includes establishing a temporary joint navigation route through the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the understanding reached on a joint mine-clearing project in the strait.

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Al-Thani expressed appreciation for Oman’s efforts to reduce regional tensions. Al-Thani also stated that Qatar fully supports Oman’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalation and strengthening regional stability.
