Qatar’s Prime Ministerial Adviser and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Ansari, said Qatar is continuing talks and exchanges of messages between the parties in the region.

In a post by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Al-Ansari’s remarks at the weekly press briefing, it was stated that Qatar aims to establish common ground that would bring the positions of the parties closer together and pave the way for a peaceful solution.

The statement said Qatar would continue its mediation role and reaffirmed its support for efforts aimed at de-escalation and the full restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement said Qatar condemns the targeting of infrastructure, energy facilities and vessels, noting that such actions threaten people’s interests and violate international law and the principles of good-neighborly relations.

It was noted that the crisis and instability in the region are affecting energy, food and industrial supplies, increasing pressure on the global economy.

The statement also said Qatar warned against attempts to change the status quo in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and called for intensified efforts to halt violations.

Qatar said it would continue working with its partners to support a political solution in Palestine amid the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, while also condemning Israeli statements regarding the annexation of southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

Qatar said it would continue its support for the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples.
