Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to a statement from the Kremlin, Mirziyoyev congratulated Putin on the holding of elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly.

During the conversation, it was stated that voter turnout and the election results reflected Russian citizens' support for the president's policies aimed at advancing the country's socioeconomic development and protecting national interests.

Putin and Mirziyoyev also discussed current issues concerning the further strengthening of the alliance between Russia and Uzbekistan.
