Saidov: We can build a more stable and stronger future for Central Asia and the entire world
Samarkand, April 4 (Hibya) – Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bahtiyor Saidov expressed gratitude to all international and regional partners who supported them during his visit to Samarkand.
Minister Saidov reiterated Uzbekistan’s commitment to addressing climate change at both the national and regional levels.
He emphasized, as President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted, that the environmental issues of Central Asia require collective action, and said:
“Key initiatives announced at the forum include: organizing a regional tree-planting campaign titled ‘Green Belt of Central Asia’; increasing the share of renewable energy to 54% over the next five years; establishing the Secretariat of the EU’s ‘Water – Energy – Climate Change’ initiative in Tashkent; and holding an international forum on water-saving technologies in the Aral Gulf region.”
Saidov concluded: “We are grateful to all our international and regional partners who supported us by visiting Samarkand. Together, we can build a more stable and stronger future for Central Asia and the entire world.”
