Saidov: We can build a more stable and stronger future for Central Asia and the entire world
Samarkand, April 4 (Hibya) – Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bahtiyor Saidov expressed gratitude to all international and regional partners who supported them during his visit to Samarkand.
Minister Saidov reiterated Uzbekistan’s commitment to fighting climate change on both national and regional levels.
He stated, as President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized, that Central Asia’s environmental challenges require collective action, and added:
“Key initiatives announced at the forum include: launching a regional tree planting campaign called the ‘Green Belt of Central Asia’; increasing the share of renewable energy to 54% within the next five years; establishing the Secretariat of the EU initiative ‘Water – Energy – Climate Change’ in Tashkent; and organizing an international forum on water-saving technologies in the Aral Gulf region.”
Saidov concluded: “We are grateful to all international and regional partners who supported us by visiting Samarkand. Together, we can create a more stable and stronger future for Central Asia and the entire world.”
