Madrid, May 9 (Hibya) - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez held a meeting with World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus regarding the arrival process of the MV Hondius ship to the Canary Islands, emphasizing their commitment to humanitarian assistance.

Providing information about the content of the meeting, Sanchez said: “I held a meeting with Ghebreyesus regarding the arrival of the MV Hondius ship to the Canary Islands.”
Highlighting Spain’s humanitarian responsibilities, Sanchez stated: “Accepting the WHO’s request and offering a safe port is a moral and legal obligation toward our citizens, Europe, and international law.”
Sanchez summarized his country’s stance in this process with the following words:
