Sharif said during the meeting that he appreciated Guterres' work at the UN and stated that Pakistan would continue its efforts for a more effective and representative United Nations.

The meeting addressed Pakistan's mediation efforts, UN reform, peacekeeping activities, regional peace, the rights of the peoples of Kashmir and Palestine, and affordable financing opportunities for developing countries.

Sharif highlighted the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving disputes and preventing the escalation of tensions.

Developments in Afghanistan were also discussed. Sharif stressed the importance of a peaceful Afghanistan and said concrete steps should be taken against terrorist organizations operating on Afghan territory.

Sharif said Pakistan would continue its cooperation with the UN in the areas of international peace and security, sustainable development and climate resilience.
