Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha issued a statement on his social media account regarding Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.

Sybiha said Russia had continued its attacks on Ukraine over the past 24 hours, reporting that at least 4 people were killed and 47 injured in attacks carried out in Kyiv yesterday alone.

Sybiha said attacks on cities across the country continued today, reporting that at least 2 people were killed in Sumy, 2 in Zaporizhzhia and 2 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, including a child. He added that dozens of people were injured across Ukraine.

Sybiha said that over the past 24 hours, the targets of the attacks included a kindergarten in Kyiv, a high school in the Kyiv region, a university in Kharkiv, residential buildings, and energy infrastructure in the Poltava, Mykolaiv and Vinnytsia regions.

Arguing that the attacks were directed at civilian areas, Sybiha said, “These are places where people live, study, work and bring their children.”

Sybiha said new attacks began after air raid alerts had ended, describing this as the daily reality of Russia’s escalating attacks in Ukraine.

Sybiha said Russia’s attacks should not be viewed as isolated developments occurring between periods of diplomatic talks, adding that the attacks continue every day and civilians are paying the price.

Calling on the international community not to become desensitized to the attacks, Sybiha said, “If Russia chooses to make its attacks even more brutal, the response must also be stronger.”

Sybiha called for Ukraine to be provided with more missile defense systems, for sanctions to be strengthened against those facilitating Russia’s attacks, and for pressure on Moscow to be increased.

Sybiha argued that Russia was testing how much violence the international community would tolerate, saying that the escalation of attacks should bring greater pressure, more support for Ukraine and a higher cost for the aggressor.
