Sybiha: Pressure on Moscow must be increased to strengthen Ukraine
Ireland, September 2 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said he met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, stressing that urgent steps must be taken to strengthen Ukraine and increase pressure on Moscow.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that he met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide ahead of the informal meeting of European Union (EU) foreign ministers in Ireland.
Sybiha said they discussed the outcomes of the leaders’ meetings and the implementation of the agreements reached. He added that he briefed Eide on Russia’s escalation of terrorist actions, the situation in the Black Sea, and the latest developments in peace efforts.
Sybiha said they also discussed urgent steps that need to be taken to strengthen Ukraine and increase pressure on Moscow ahead of the meeting with his European counterparts, noting that the full use of frozen Russian assets is among these steps.
Sybiha thanked Norway for announcing 85 billion Norwegian kroner in assistance to Ukraine next year. He added that they also exchanged views on further support, particularly assistance in the energy and defense sectors.
