Sybiha: Russia is now targeting bridges as well
Kyiv, October 4 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Russia had targeted two bridges in Kyiv six times in recent days and that the attacks took place during periods of heavy civilian traffic.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha said in a statement on his social media account that Russia had begun targeting bridges as part of its attacks on civilians.
Sybiha said: “Over the past few days, Russia has attacked two Kyiv bridges six times. The attacks took place while civilian traffic was using the bridges and metro trains were passing through.”
Stating that the world cannot simply stand by and watch these attacks, Sybiha called on partner countries to respond strongly. He urged them to make it clear to Moscow that it must stop the escalation and terror and engage in diplomacy and peace efforts.
Sybiha also called on allies to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses, impose effective sanctions on Russia’s military-industrial complex, and add to sanctions lists the individuals and organizations enabling the regime to continue its crimes.
