Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto, in his statement addressed to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha, emphasized Hungary’s position in the energy sector.

Szijjarto said: “Mr. Minister, I would like to remind you that 58 percent of your natural gas imports and 44 percent of your electricity imports come from Hungary.”

Calling for a more modest tone, Szijjarto added: “You should be a little more modest.”

Reiterating Hungary’s stance, Szijjarto stated: “I have told you this many times and I repeat it: your war with Russia is not our war, and we are not prepared to put the security of the Hungarian people at risk.”
