Italian Foreign Minister Tajani said he brought together the foreign ministers of Balkan countries and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola in New York.

Tajani reiterated the Italian government's commitment to the reunification of the Balkans and said that this process is strategic for Europe's future.

Tajani said economic cooperation and connectivity should be increased and investments should be made in strategic infrastructure in order to bring the Balkans closer to the rest of Europe, support economic convergence and strengthen the European Single Market.

Tajani said the Rome Charter continues to guide the process and stated that they aim to accelerate it.
