Claiming that Willis had died at the age of 74, Trump said the artist had accompanied his rallies with the song "YMCA," which became a major hit again years later.
Trump also said that Village People had supported him at political rallies from the very beginning and that Willis's performances were enthusiastically received by the crowds.
He extended his condolences to the artist's family and the members of the group, saying Victor Willis "will be greatly missed."
