United States (US) President Donald Trump said US forces carried out strikes against Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said the strikes were carried out after Iran attempted to place naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz and after eight missiles were launched at a US military base in Jordan. Trump said all of the missiles were neutralized.

Calling the strikes “big and powerful”, Trump warned that heavier attacks would be carried out if Iran retaliated.

Trump also said a larger attack was on standby and claimed that, if carried out, the Islamic Republic of Iran would suffer severe damage.
