Trump orders Justice Department to investigate Democrats
Washington, November 7 (Hibya) – US President Donald Trump instructed the Department of Justice to immediately launch an investigation, alleging that Democrats have threatened the US Attorney General and Republican Party supporters with dismissal, imprisonment and various other penalties.
US President Donald Trump stated that Democrats were threatening numerous individuals with removal from office and various sanctions. "Democrats are threatening to remove many people from office, including the US Attorney General, and impose other punishments. Moreover, they themselves admit that they have no grounds for doing so. None of the individuals targeted in this process have committed any act that would warrant their removal from office," Trump said.
Describing the threats as "blackmail at the highest level," Trump also alleged that Republican Party donors were being threatened with imprisonment and other penalties simply because they were Republicans or supported the party. Trump characterized the situation as "the weaponization of law and the judiciary for political purposes."
Trump also targeted Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin, alleging that she had said she would target young people who believe in Republican values and sympathize with the Republican Party. "These blackmailers are the ones who should be put in jail," Trump said.
Claiming that Democratic political leaders had sent threatening letters to numerous individuals and maintaining that those individuals were innocent, Trump concluded his statement by addressing the Justice Department: "With this statement, I am instructing the Department of Justice to immediately investigate this alleged criminal act."
