Trump Threatens EU with 200% Tariff on Wine, Champagne, and Alcoholic Products
Washington, March 13 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump threatened the European Union, which he described as "one of the world's most hostile and exploitative taxation and tariff authorities," with a 200% tariff on "all wines, champagnes, and alcoholic products coming from France and other EU-represented countries."
He stated that this would be a response to the EU’s plan to impose a "bad" 50% tariff on American whiskey. Trump claimed that the proposed U.S. retaliatory measure would be "great for the wine and champagne businesses in the U.S."
