Washington, July 17 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump argued that voting by mail increases the risk of election fraud, citing various reports, studies, and court rulings that he said support this view.

In his statement, Trump referred to assessments by the Federal Commission on Election Reform indicating that voting by mail could increase the risk of fraud and challenges to election results.
Trump also argued that a study published by The New York Times in 2012, assessments by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Election Data + Science Lab, a report by the Heritage Foundation, and a public opinion survey conducted by the Heartland Institute and Rasmussen all contain findings suggesting that voting by mail poses risks to election security.
Trump also referred to a 2008 ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court, stating that it included assessments that the risk of voter fraud is real and could affect the outcome of closely contested elections.
