Turk calls for the release of UN staff detained in Yemen
New York, July 9 (Hibya)—United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk called for the release of UN staff and NGO workers detained in Sana'a, Yemen.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Turk reminded that a month has passed since the detention of UN and NGO human rights staff in Sana'a, Yemen.
Turk expressed extreme concern for their welfare: "We call on the de facto authorities to immediately and unconditionally release them and other human rights and humanitarian workers."
