New York, July 9 (Hibya) United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk reported that local voices and experiences have long been excluded.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk stated that local voices are being silenced.
Volker Türk, drawing attention to the rights of Indigenous peoples, said:
"Local voices and experiences have long been excluded and silenced. More sustainable efforts are needed for the full respect of indigenous rights and their increased and safe participation in all areas of public and political life, including within the UN".
