UK Foreign Secretary Cooper stated that they are determined to end violence against women and girls in close cooperation with the Home Office and partners across the globe.

Noting that their mission is to halve violence against women and girls over the next decade, Cooper said they are implementing national strategies in line with this goal.

Cooper said: “Violence against women and girls is a national emergency and also a global problem. Worldwide, one in three women and girls experiences physical or sexual violence in her lifetime. This is unacceptable. Enough is enough.”

Emphasizing that they will continue to work resolutely across government and in cooperation with countries around the world to eliminate this form of violence and abuse, Cooper added: “Everyone has the right to live a life free from fear, free and safe.”
