Ukraine: 12 people killed in Russian attacks
Kyiv, August 18 (Hibya) - Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said 12 Ukrainians were killed and at least 15 people were injured in Russian attacks carried out overnight. Ten people were reported killed in Pechenihy in the Kharkiv region, while numerous buildings and vehicles were damaged.
Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding Russia's overnight attacks on Ukraine.
The ministry said 12 people were killed and at least 15 were injured in the attacks.
According to the statement, the highest number of casualties was recorded in the settlement of Pechenihy in the Kharkiv region. Ten people were killed in a missile strike there. The attack damaged 10 houses, a post office, a shop and at least seven vehicles.
In the nearby city of Izium, Russian forces reportedly shelled an area of private residences, injuring five people, including a 9-year-old child.
In a Russian attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia, two civilians were killed, while drones caused a fire in a residential building.
The statement said the Dnipro region was also subjected to heavy attacks, damaging local infrastructure, industrial enterprises, transport facilities and residential buildings, while a young girl was also injured.
In the Chernihiv region, a woman was also injured in Russian attacks, while drones set fire to two outbuildings and damaged a warehouse, agricultural machinery and several tons of animal feed.
Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs argued that Russia continues to target Ukrainian cities and attack civilians, calling on the international community not only to condemn the attacks but also to take measures against Russia.
