UNRWA: 15,000 people in Gaza face famine risk
New York, November 28 (Hibya) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported that 15,000 people in Gaza are at risk of famine.
In a statement, UNRWA noted that the United Nations Population Fund reported 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza and 4,000 births expected next month.
The statement added that heavy rains and limited aid have worsened the conditions of displaced persons in Gaza. "According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 2024 is the deadliest year for humanitarian workers."
