UNRWA: Humanitarian needs remain extremely high
New York, December 29 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said that thousands of displaced families in Gaza are trying to survive in unsafe shelter conditions.
UNRWA issued a statement on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The statement said: “In Gaza, tens of thousands of displaced families are sheltering amid destruction, in fragile tents and extremely overcrowded areas.”
Approximately 79,000 people continue to live in UNRWA emergency shelters and in the areas surrounding them.
The statement stressed that needs in the region are increasing day by day, adding: “Humanitarian needs remain extremely high.”
