UNRWA: Water access restored for 30,000 people in Gaza
New York, Aug. 6 (Hibya) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that the repair of a water well buried under rubble in Gaza has restored water access for approximately 30,000 people.
In its statement, UNRWA quoted sanitation worker Iyad as saying, "When water returns, life begins to return too."
The statement noted that families who had endured prolonged water shortages can once again access water to meet their daily needs, adding that teams are continuing to rehabilitate another water well in the area to restore this essential service to the community.
